I've been keeping quiet about it for a while while waiting myself because it seemed as though it was long in the coming. But with the recent days passing, it looks like we're really close to being able to host Dedicated servers for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Online. The loader that TeknoGods have been working on will allow users to inject all of the needed commands dvars during runtime that allow us to have access to the functionality we have wanted all along. 
What does this mean?
Well, it means that you will be able to host a Dedicated server of course. It also means that you will be able to kick cheaters, use custom settings on the gametype, time and score limits and points for each action. You'll be able to know where to go for the best game from the server list and hopefully be able to filter as before.
I'm pretty excited. Now we can play on servers that are in the sub 100 ms area.
TG has already come up with a great Co-op loader that allows direct connect. You can see screenshots and read all about their great work here.
Activision, please just pull the curtain back and let us have this nativley.

Activision and Infinity Ward have done a crazy job making Modern Warfare 2 a game that is on everyone Christmas wishlist.
If was a sure bet that it would be the biggest game release of the year, but after tallying figures that put it squarely on top of all other entertainment, it's really just beginning.
As retailers continue to keep stocking shelves, gamers continue to buy in record numbers.
On Saturday Activision announced its Call of Duty franchise had generated $3 billion in sales to date.

Well, I was going to play back through MW2 today and looking to get more screenshots for you guys. When I looked at the bottom of the level list, ACTI, ACTII, ACTIII, I saw a new "Museum" level there. Okay, I'll bite.. So I go into the level and there are all of the sets that you glimpse at the end credits... Nice.. I thought it was really cool, but with them all standing there helpless and Makarov ready to die.. I shot him.. okat, then we gotta test out all the weapons yeah? Go nuts.. then on the way out I saw it. I little tiny firebell that says Whatever you do, don't push "E or F" for me, but I guess in the vids I saw, it's X vor the XBOX... well, be ready to fight.. when you press the button all hell breaks loose and unless you're way more prepared than me, you're dead right away. So check it out, have some fun. I even took some screenshots for you to check out since you have all been wanting more of those. Check out the screenie section. Cheers, ~J |
