1   Link   Buzzmonkey Software
Buzz Monkey is a potent mix of industry vets and fresh talent. The company was founded in 2001 by four senior Dynamix employees — Randy Thompson, Jon Milnes, Steve Cordon, and Barry Drew — people involved in that company's most profitable and award-winning games such as "Tribes" and "The Incredible Machine". Drawing from our industry contacts and associations with local universities, we've populated Buzz Monkey with both experienced developers and exceptional new talent destined to become the stars of the future.

Pipeworks is a major Software player in Eugene.
I would love to give a run down, but here their take on themselves.
------------------------------------------
Pipeworks Software was founded in 1999 by a group of people who came together with a commitment to making high quality games and delivering a satisfying experience to our clients. Those ideals continue to drive every thing that we do today. We are a versatile developer of fun console games, with an emphasis on absolute dependability for our publishing partners. When we commit to something, we will deliver it at a high quality and on time. Pipeworks is part of Foundation 9 Entertainment, a collective of independent game development studios located all over the world.

During our eight successful years in business, we have crafted titles including platformers, brawlers, driving games, rhythm games, and board games. We have the distinction of shipping a launch title for the Nintendo Wii, Rampage: Total Destruction, which has sold over one million units. We have since shipped a second Wii brawler game, Godzilla: Unleashed, and have cultivated gestural interaction into a core competency.

Besides being one of the first independent developers to work on the Wii, Pipeworks was also in on the ground floor of development on the Microsoft Xbox and Xbox 360, creating the boot ROMS for both systems and several cutting-edge Xbox demos, designed to show off the capabilities of system before it launched. Currently, we are in our 4th generation of PS2 and PSP development and are actively developing for PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii as well.

I love playing the free games that IA has to offer.. I have purchased a few upgrades.. ;), they're needed to spruce up your avatar.

Here's what they say about themselves.
--------------------------------------------
Gaming technology on the web is changing. InstantAction is bringing 3-D multi-player console-like games to the web, playable through a browser. The platform brings together the best of gaming with the best of the web, combining the web's accessibility and social interaction with high end graphics and competitive gameplay. This will appeal to hardcore gamers who find the games more accessible than expensive console games, international gamers who don't have access to consoles, and former core gamers who have careers or families and no longer have as much time to pour into the gigantic game experiences they used to. We have cracked some daunting technology hurdles to bring the type of games serious gamers like to the web.

Since many of our games are online and multi-player, we have designed a social environment that makes it easy for friends to connect and jump into a game. In addition, with InstantAction's unique lobby approach, it is easy to move from game to game with your party. Being on the Web also enables us to do what we call "live development," where we take active and passive feedback from our players to continually update/improve levels, storylines and gamers will no longer have to wait for a sequel to keep a game fresh.
